I am BEYOND honored to have received the Fearless Female Filmmaker Award award from the Coronado Island Film Festival. Alongside my Producer, Lisa Donmall-Reeve, we accepted the award in November and couldn’t think of a better honor for our film Double Exposure.
7 months pregnant during our filming week in NYC, I had an amazing assistant in my soon-to-be daughter who kept me company during the all night shoots and grounded throughout the entire process. What a cool way to honor her, and the women that came before me in my family, all paving the way to continue to create + inspire other women to do the same.
We also have to thank our leading lady Krysta Rodriguez - the epitome of fearless woman, who brought Dani’s story to life in our film.
I seek to continue to create works focusing on women, from the female point of view + experience.
